What is the difference between Brizy Pages and Brizy Blog?

Before using Brizy blogs, familiarity with Brizy Basics is recommended. Brizy functionality guidelines apply, with these exceptions:

  • 📝 Blog posts are published using 2 setups:
  • Content page:
  • Where the blog 'items' are specified (title, featured image, introduction etc). There is a labelled screenshot example in the FAQ to illustrate this.
  • Layout (published) page - audience sees this:
  • A normal Brizy page using blocks, however the blogs are set to show dynamic content - see next point). There is a labelled screenshot example in the FAQ to illustrate this.
  • ⛁ Blogs use dynamic content i.e 'Latest Blog Title'.

Using Brizy Blogs

Blog Basics

How do I navigate to the blog area?
  • After logging in to your account (see the Main Brizy FAQ page for help on this under 'Basics'), on the left hand size menu, click the hamburger icon ☰
  • Select the 'Posts' option. This is shown in the image below.
How do I create a new post?
  • Once in the blog posts area, click the 'Create New Post' button at the bottom of the page. This will load up the blog content template for you to populate. The image below shows the new blog button.
How do I edit the content of an existing post?
  • Once in the blog posts area, click the title of the blog post you wish to edit (not the pencil icon under Actions) under the 'Name' column. The below image shows this.

Understanding Blog Structure - Pt.1

Accessing the duo structure of blog posts (content vs layout views)
  • Blog posts are published using the content template and also the visual layout template.
  • To edit the content (text, images) you click on the blog title under 'Name' which brings up the content template.
  • To edit the layout (how the published post looks) you click on the edit pencil icon under 'Actions' which brings up the layout template.

The below labelled images illustrates this.

If you are viewing this page on a tablet or mobile, you may wish to click on the image to see a larger version and zoom in as appropriate.

How does the content template relate to the actual published post?
  • The content template contains 'placeholders' for various blog elements - the featured image, the blog title, the blog introduction and the main body paragraphs.
  • Important elements such as the featured image (shown on the blog category page and maybe elsewhere on the site), the blog title, the blog introduction etc cannot be left blank. Other elements such as the additional images may be optional, depending on how the layout template is set up.

To help understand how each element relates to the published post, there is a labelled image below.
